Professional Summary

Since 1998 I've been in building digital products / experiences. First as a webdesigner/developer, but as time passes I moved more and more to the business side of things. Since 2009 I've doing nothing else then product management. First within a big corporate (Elsevier), after which I moved to several smaller companies (Layar, Backbase, Kroodle).

In 2015, I was lucky to be part of founding SimpledCard. I built the product from scratch with a small but highly skilled team after which the focus shifted to building an organization that could sustain the impressive growth as part of the leadership team (head of product & customer succes).

During this period, I came across a lot of startups with similair issues we faced, so decided to turn my advising startup as a side business, to a fulltime business. I do this together with Nils Brosch (SAAS collective).

Event & trainings:

Productmanagement is a relatively new field in europe and to me it still feels rather immature compared to the level of skills I find in US/UK. That's why, one of my personal mission is to raise the knowledge bar by bringing high-quality knowledge in an accesible way to the market. I do this in different ways: 

In 2012 I started co-organising ProductTank Amsterdam; the biggest Product related meetup in Amsterdam with now over 2000 active members in the community. We organise 7 meetups a year, everytime related to a different theme.

Secondly, as of 2017, I've been training product people on different aspects of productmanagement: beginner courses, but also more advanced topics like roadmapping and product metrics.

I' am a ISPMA certified software productmanagement from the University of Utrecht.
